Dorchester NSC

The Dorchester NSC (DNSC) provides valuable services to one of the largest communities in Boston, and is committed to improving the quality of live for its residents. It strives to serve as a positive change agent in the lives of its neighbors and to provide leadership in issues and areas of concern to Dorchester and the city of Boston.

After a devastating fire destroyed the DNSC in 2004, it is now housed in a state-of-the-art community agency complex. To offset insurance shortfalls of the costly renovation, the DNSC has launched a capital campaign.

DNSC provides ABCD services like Head Start and SummerWorks. In addition, it offers its own unique programs like:
  • After School and Summer Enrichment (ASEP), supporting working parents by providing safe, affordable child care with an emphasis on homework support and academic achievement during the school year. During the summer the program provides activities such as swimming, arts and crafts, sporting events and field trips.
  • The Girls PRINT Program (Production in Radio, Internet, Newspaper and Television) targeting at-risk girls ages 14 to 21. PRINT girls produce a newsletter, public service announcements and web pages, and tour local television studios.
