The East Boston APAC has a long history of advocating for clients on health care issues, particularly the physical, emotional and mental health problems confronting elderly and adolescent residents. With many elderly and chronically ill residents seeking services, the APAC purchased an on-site portable defibrillator that provides staff member with the capability of providing life-saving emergency care if necessary.
Along with a number of ABCD programs like Fuel Assistance, EITC and Head Start, the East Boston APAC services include:- Collaboration with East Boston Neighborhood Health Center to distribute child safety window guards and certify youth in CPR, Heimlich maneuver and use of the defibrillator unit
- Drop-in center for senior citizens
