The Women's Service Club was organized in 1918 to assist servicemen of color during World War I. Today, with its "open door" mission, the club provides resources and support to individuals and families so they may better themselves and their communities.

WSC services and programs include:

• Programs for immigrant workers
• Homemaker training.
• Basic education.
• Nutritional program for seniors
• Information and referral
• Emergency food pantry
• The Boston and Vicinity Club
• Elderly drop-in center
• "The Changing Room" clothing program
• Grandparents as Parents support group
• Introduction to computer classes
• GED programs and assistance with MCAS
• Flea market fundraisers
• Health fairs
