Maria Stephanos
Maria Stephanos anchors FOX25 News at Ten, FOX25 News at 5:00 and FOX25 News at 5:30, a position she says is a passion, not just a job! Maria has been with FOX25 since 1997. She began as a general assignment reporter and later added fill-in anchor duties to her workload.
Born and raised in Groveland, Massachusetts, Maria’s ties to the Boston area have proved valuable in covering local issues. She believes being able to tell people night after night about what’s going on in their community is “amazing.”
Maria’s versatility as a reporter has lead to numerous high-profile assignments. She’s covered state and national elections, democratic and republican conventions, and a variety of breaking news stories. Her New England roots and reporter skills give her an edge on the anchor desk. She’s able to summarize a story quickly and ask field reporters the most relevant questions viewers want answered.
Maria’s connection with New Englanders goes beyond delivering the day’s news. She’s an avid supporter of many charitable organizations including ABCD, The Massachusetts Chapter of the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, The American Cancer Society and The Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Maria came to FOX25 from WJAR-TV in Providence, RI where she covered spot news. Her career also includes reporting for WCBS radio, WABC radio, NPR radio and WNBC radio.
Maria received an Associated Press award in 2000 for her feature reporting. She holds a master’s degree in Mass Communications from Emerson College.
Mark Ockerbloom
Mark Ockerbloom anchors FOX25 News at Ten, FOX25 News at 5:00 and FOX25 News at 5:30. Previously, Mark served as the weekend news anchor and reporter on FOX25 News. He joined FOX25 in 2004 as the weekend sports anchor and reporter. His knowledge of the Boston area and experience covering all types of news make him an asset on the anchor desk. As a Boston area native, Mark says it’s a dream come true to be in New England anchoring the news.
Before coming to FOX25, Mark anchored an evening sportscast and co-hosted a nightly sports show at NECN. He has covered Super Bowl victories by the Patriots in New Orleans, Houston and Jacksonville and was on the field for the Red Sox run to a World Series championship.
Prior to returning home to New England, Mark worked at KOCO-TV in Oklahoma City where he was named Oklahoma's Sportscaster of the Year. Mark got his start as a TV sportscaster at WMUR-TV in Manchester, New Hampshire. Prior to that he made radio stops at WGIR and WMDK in New Hampshire. He’s earned several broadcasting awards from the Associated Press and The Society of Professional Journalists.
Mark is a Providence College graduate and is an active supporter of ABCD and The Wellness Community in Greater Boston. He and his wife Marysia live in the Boston area with their three daughters Allison, Juliana and Alena.
