Training for Health Leaders
The ABCD Family Planning Professional Training Program provides family planning, reproductive health, and sexuality education for ABCD health center staff and other health professionals and community health workers in the Boston area.
Each year, ABCD Family Planning offers a comprehensive calendar of professional training opportunities. The following core programs are usually offered three times a year:
-
Basic Family Planning: a six-day family planning counselor certification course
-
Family Planning for Advanced Practice: a two-day course for nurses, advanced practice nurses, physician assistants and physicians, with 14.2 contract hours for nurses
-
Introduction to Family Planning: a two-day course for community agency staff
In addition, trainings on current reproductive health topics are held several times a year. Specialized trainings on family planning and reproductive health topics are available for community and health care agencies by special arrangement with ABCD staff.
