In the life of any family or individual, disaster can strike:  illness, job loss, death of a loved one, loss of a home.  The current high cost of heat and rent means many low and even moderate-income families are less than a pay check away from homelessness. 

Although ABCD's overall focus is long-term self-sufficiency, a number of programs help families in crisis get through the worst of times and begin to rebuild their lives.
