The Department of Housing and Homelessness Prevention's HEART (Helping At-Risk Tenants) program is a federally-funded program made possible by the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act (ARRA).
This early intervention program targets at-risk families in preventing homelessness and stabilizing their living conditions before they face the immediate threat of losing their tenancy. The program is located at the Dorchester and Parker Hill/Fenway Neighborhood Service Centers, Dudley Square office, and Downtown Boston Central Office.
A dedicated professional team at each site conducts screenings on a case-by-case basis to assist families with direct services, educational workshops, and case management to maintain their housing.
HEART aims to provide at-risk families with valuable resources, such as:
- Dedicated Case Management
- Money Management and Budget Workshops
- Tenant/Landlord Mediation
- Career Counseling Services
- Resource Connections
HEART also connects families with other ABCD programs and community resources.
