Men's Health

The Men's Preventive Health Counseling Program

We are committed to fostering men's participation in family planning and creating opportunities for men to address their reproductive and sexual health care needs.

The program incorporates men's socialization about manhood, sex, and sexuality, and its impact on men's health behaviors to promote responsible and healthy family planning, reproductive and sexual health behavior in men. It helps adult men to reduce their sexual risk behaviors to prevent unwanted pregnancies and sexually transmitted infections.

We strive to increase men's use of contraceptives, and increase their overall awareness, knowledge and support of the family planning and reproductive health choices of their partners. We offer reproductive health education and services for men, including male sexual health, STD/HIV prevention, counseling and testing, testicular self-exams and prostate exams. We also offer sexual health education and services for men on impotence, premature ejaculation, and other sexual health conditions.

Annually, there is a Men's Health Summit focused on improving the health status of men and their families. The event features a health fair, health screenings and a variety of speakers that address pertinent issues related to men’s health. The conference is coordinated by the Men’s Health Clinic at Whittier Street Health Center.

Clinical services for men, including individual counseling on family planning, male health, STD/ HIV counseling and testing are available at the Men’s Health Clinic, located within Whittier Street Health Center. Learn more about male services by calling (617) 989.3211.
