Health Care Information Seniors Want and Need
The SHINE (Serving the Health Information Needs of Elders) program provides free, unbiased, and confidential health insurance information, counseling and assistance to Massachusetts residents with Medicare.
Information is disseminated by trained and certified volunteer SHINE counselors who help individuals make informed choices, while providing information on enrollment in new Medicare benefits. Specifically, the program helps beneficiaries in selecting and enrolling in Medicare A & B, Medicare Advantage, Medicare Prescription Drug Coverage, Medigap, Mass Health, and other programs that help pay for health care costs for people with limited income and resources.
Medicare Annual Open Enrollment Period Ends December 7! People eligible for Medicare can make changes in their Medicare prescription drug plans and Medicare Advantage plans for the 2012 year until December 7, 2011.
